Preparing for the playoffs!

I'm in the playoffs! That feels amazing, my first year, I'm so excited! Also very nervous, the competition is tough and every choice will matter now. I can't afford to choose the wrong player. Obviously on this important week there will be a lot of injuries for my players. Robinson is out for the season, so I traded him for Blount who then turns out to not be practicing. It is unclear if there's an injury. It looks like I have to find another running back. Anderson also missed a practice and has had limited practices because of his ankle, but I don't think it's enough to hold him back on Sunday. Olsen also has an injury but it's probably not anything that's going to affect Olsen's game. The same with Lafell and Edelman, there is nothing to indicate that they would miss the game.

The Eagles are back as my defense, since Rams were facing a division (and possibly conference) leading Cardinals and the Eagles are facing the Cowboys that they faced a few weeks back, with pretty good result.

My biggest decisions this week will be which running back I should pick up, which wide receiver I should start and, believe it or not, which quarterback. I know, why would I think about starting Eli? Well consider this, last time the Giants faced Redskins he made 32 points. And the Redskins defense is not doing overly well. Brady on the other hand didn't have a great first week against the Dolphins, scoring only about ten points, even though the Patriots have pulled themselves together since.

Another question for this week is the Panthers players. Newton is injured after a car accident, so Derek Anderson will take his place. That might affect how well Benjamin and Olsen will do. There aren't really any better players free to pick up right now so I will just hope that this won't result in lower points for them. Will be an exciting week!

Afterthoughts Week 14

Last week was a pretty good week. I picked up Rams as my defense and that was a great choice, they gave me 27 points. Allen was a disappointment with only 0.5 points, and so was Robinson, with 3 points. LaFell also didn't do very good, it seems Edelman got the plays in the Patriots game. I should have started Edelman, but you never know when Bill Belichick is at the wheel. CJ did great as usual with three touchdowns, despite suffering from an ankle injury. Sanu barely got any catches so it was a smart choice to bench him, and Beckham JR did good as always. Ended up with 115.08 points and won my game. On to the Playoffs!

Preparing for week 14

Well last week was a bit of a disappointment for most of my players, but Anderson managed to pull us through. It will be interesting for the Broncos when Hillman and Ball is back, since Anderson has performed so well.

Now to this week. I have made some adjustments in the team. Sanu is not getting enough balls now that Green is back and performing well, so I decided to put him on the bench, and I brought in Lafell from Patriots to take his place. He is very uneven, but he's managed to find the end zone quite a few times this season so I'm hoping he will do it again on Sunday. Right now he's questionable, but I don't think there's any danger there, but I will keep my eye on him.

The other change I made is pick up Allen from Colts. He's been injured and this should be his first game back. He should produce some good points. Olsen is injured so he's on the bench, and I also have Fleener in case Allen wouldn't play.

I'm still deciding on what defense to play. Eagles have done very well this season but they are up against the Seahawks, which doesn't seem very favorable. Patriots haven't been as good but Chandler Jones might return on Sunday and give them an extra boost against the chargers. I'll have to think about that until tomorrow.

Preparing for Week 13

This is my lineup for week 13 as of now. Sources tell me that the Patriots might do a lot of run plays on Sunday, but Eli is still too unreliable so Brady will be my starting quarterback. Vereen is injured, and I think even if he wasn't I would probably still bench him, considering Blount is back and Gray will be getting balls too. Robinson will take place as first running back and Anderson has moved up to second running back. Benjamin is back after bye week, taking Edelman's place as wide receiver. Sanu is moved to the flex position, meaning that I will start three wide receivers this week, with Beckham continuing as a starter. Olsen is also back and I picked up Walker and dropped Fleener. I will probably start Olsen as my tight end though. I started the Eagles as my defense and they played pretty well in the thanksgiving thursday game.

It will be an exciting week, but I think my lineup looks pretty good.

Week 12 Afterthoughts

What a game! I'm still hyped about it. Biggest players this week was Beckham Jr and C.J. Anderson, and wow what a week they had. Beckham got 26.4 points (including an amazing touchdown) and Anderson got 25.5. I got my record points, 123.76, and that's really exciting. There are a few weeks left, but I could have a shot at a league win if I continue starting the right players and they continue to have good matches with lots of opportunity. The coming weeks will be intense.

Brady and Sanu both did pretty good, I'm glad Sanu seems to back on track and catching some balls. Vereen did okay but Robinson was a little disappointing with 5.2 points. The Eagles defense and Gostkowski both did good. My biggest disappointment was Fleener, who only got 2.8 points. I might let him go and pick up Titans' Walker for next week, since he's back from his concussion.

As for the bench, Eli did pretty good. I could have started him instead of Brady and gotten 3.5 points more. The Giants offense really worked well, if only they would play this good every week. I do wish I had started Eli, not that it would have mattered but just for the sake of it. I don't know if I get that chance again.

Edelman was on the field for most of the game, got a lot of balls and didn't seem to be disturbed by his injury. I could have played him, but both my wide receivers still did better than him so I think I made a good choice.

Lineup for Week 12

My lineup for week 12 is set. I decided to pick up Anderson and leave Edelman on the bench. I have higher trust in Brady than Eli, so Brady will stay as starting quarterback. Sanu has had two bad weeks but I hope he will be back on track in todays game against Texans. Fleener is stand in for Olsen who has bye week, will be interesting to see how he does, and finally Robinson is back after a bye week. I feel pretty good about the team, but you never know. Fingers crossed.
